Success Stories

Piper
One of the many organizations that Dr. Smith graciously gives his medical services is the Greyhound Pets of American, Arizona. These wonderful dogs visit Mile Hi for medical care before they are put up for adoption. They receive a dental, microchip, spay or neuter, and vaccinations.
Piper, previously known as "Puddin Pie" during her racing career, received care from Mile Hi before going to her new home, and third

career as a 40-mile-per-hour couch potato. Not only did Piper race during her younger years, she was a "mommy" for a few years. Momma Greyhounds keep their puppies by their side for 3 to 4 months before the puppies move on to a new life.
Piper is an older gal, nearing her ninth birthday. You hear the saying that "some things get better with age". That would be the story of a greyhound. Piper is no exception to that line. She is a great gal. She moved in with her two new friends, Maddi and Peepers, and a home full of love. Piper adds just a little more love to her new home.
She enjoys her morning and evening walks, sleeping on her soft beds throughout her new home, and the home-cooked eats and treats. She follows her new owner everywhere, and has been referred to by visitors as the "zen puppy", due to her soothing nature.
